Instructing in Schools
To instruct/teach in schools, you must be prepared to do things in a more professional manner than perhaps is acceptable in your recreational club. You need to plan your Judo course within the school terms and school culture and methods.
Your Judo programme (planned on paper, for the year, term and class) should be developed in advance, typed up and shared with the staff of the schools. Preferably the Judo programme should be developed in conjunction with the school to ensure that what you deliver is appropriate and and what is expected.
Instruction within schools gives the opportunity to introduce Judo to a new generation. It is vital that classes are high qality and good fun. Our aim is to allow the students to benefit from all the plusses Judo offers. Judo has been proven to decrease aggression, aid concentration, increase self confidence and improve academic achievement. It also provides an avenue to international sport, including Commonwealth & Olympic Games level.
